Wow I'd be so mad if I asked for a trim and they shaved my dog bald!! I hope he is feeling better now and that he's growing back a beautiful coat!

Now that he's off the medication he should be able to lose the weight again with lots of exercise.

He was diagnosed with an auto immune disease over the summer and was put on steroids (prednisone) which caused him to gain 23 lbs from August to November! He is off of it now and his auto immune disease (masticatory myositosis) is in remission and he is all better, hopefully for good! So we're working on giving him more exercise to work off the weight he gained.
That's the exact reason I've never taken either of my Goldens to a groomer. So sorry.

Sue the groomer! Well maybe not sue him or her, but put a bad review on Yelp or something. Blows my mind when someone masquerades as a groomer who doesn't know the first thing about what appropriate for different dog breeds. Glad to hear your Fen is feeling better.

Fen looks all Golden to me. Your groomer sure did a bad job! Glad Fenway is feeling better. Good luck with the diet, it can be a slow process.

Late to this thread, but yes, he is all Golden. Sorry about the groomer incident, quite few stories about that here I have always done grooming myself

Good lookin' boy!

Oh my!! I think I'd post those first 2 pictures near the groomers shop with an explaination on how not to trim a golden.

But he looks all golden to me - pred can be tough on weight but better overweight and have the underlying condition in remission than slim with auto-immune issues!

Wow, they do look similar - right down to the long tongue hanging out of the side of the mouth!

I hope you didn't pay that groomer. And in the meantime, tell all of your friends about the bad haircut and who did it. LOL
