So sad that you shaved all his coat off and left only short undercoat. He looks 100% Golden to me, though. He looks a lot like my first Golden, in fact. LOVE the puppy pic.

My Bennett had a big, blocky head - and was too large to be show quality.
But he was 100% Golden, with both parents being Champions.

He looks all golden to me.
I recently had to shave half my border collie. He looked like he had a lion cut. It was because of medical reasons, he had a terrible allergy. I hope you don't normally shave your golden, they do need their full coat.
Unless he's been running through burrs, and it gets all over his coat, it's best to leave it on. Provides protection against the sun and obviously the elements.

He looks golden to me!! I agree with the other though - he might be a bit over weight and don't shave his beautiful coat!!!

Hi all, thanks for the feedback! Fenway got this awful haircut when I brought him to the groomer to trim his hair a little and she shaved him down completely and gave him this embarrassing look We are patiently waiting for his beautiful red hair to grow back and are NEVER letting anyone bring clippers near him again.
He was diagnosed with an auto immune disease over the summer and was put on steroids (prednisone) which caused him to gain 23 lbs from August to November! He is off of it now and his auto immune disease (masticatory myositosis) is in remission and he is all better, hopefully for good! So we're working on giving him more exercise to work off the weight he gained.

He looks a bit overweight in the first picture but he definitely looks like a Golden Retriever! Embrace his beautiful golden fur through and not completely shave it. Maybe a trim next time or an under coat groom to halp with shedding.

He is beautiful though. Very mature, handsome face!

He looks Golden to me,
although he looks a bit embarrassed in the second pic.

Never take pics of a naked Golden........haha

Seriously, what part of TRIM did that "groomer" not understand?
I hope you got your money back.
