| Hi, i adopted angel recently from the owner, she was very thin (feed once a day) and untrained (keep in the cage for whole day). she like to pee on the floor even i bring her out for business daily. She do not like vege (carrot, brocoli even i cut into small pieces and mix with dry food). I am feeding her twice a day but she choose not to eat vege even thought she was only fed once a day by the previous owner. She hardly listen and will keep pulling the leash whenever i bring her out for walk. Please advice |

House training, set her on a schedule and take her outside often. Praise her and give her a treat when she goes potty outside where you want her to go. Do not punish her for accidents inside the house, just take her out more often. Be consistent, in time she will learn. Teach her to listen to you, call her name then give her a treat, repeat this until when you call her name she looks at your, then given her a treat for looking at you. Practice that until when you call her she automatically looks at your. This will also lead into her paying attention to you when you walk her. Take her out on leash call her name and give her a treat when she looks at you. Take a step give her a treat if she stay with you, one step one treat, one step one treat, two steps treat, two steps treat, three steps treat, etc., until you can walk with her paying attention to you. Takes practice and patience.

| Hi, thanks for your replied. Angel was adopted in 22-10-2012 about few weeks back, she is about 15kg at the moment and i started to feed her vege since the 1st day but she is a bit choosy and dislike vege, thus i reduced her dry food to make sure she finish all her food every time. Veg: brocoli, carrot, pumpkin, apple- 3 times a week. and twice meal a day (5.30am and 8pm) I walk her twice a day to allow her to do biz but she some time will save the gold for next day. i have use to lemon to avoid her pee on the floor according to internet research and it sounds work. i believe she is getting better but i cant wait to see her become stronger and fatter......... she like to play with Bella (older GR) but i dont really like it coz they end up bitting each other leash and i have to keep buying a new one for replacement. I have bought rings and balls for them to play with but Angel doesnt really like my idea. she prefer to bite my hand. Bella will goes crazy when she see the toys........... BTW, for your information it is not cheap to keep 2 pedigree in Malaysia and their monthly expenses can goes up to RM250 provided they are not sick. therefore before any comments please look at the cost before any consultation posted. Thanks |

| I think most people on here will comment on what's best for the dogs and not about what it may cost. Take from it what you find helpful.

| Wecome to the GRF. I would suggest since you are trying to put weight on Angel, not to cut back her kibble so she eats more veggies. If she's eating a quality dry dog food, she doesn't need vegetables added anyway. Her calories should be coming from that dog food. I've never fed vegetable to any of my dogs. I know a lot of people use them for filler and vegetables won't hurt her, but if she doesn't like them, why force it? How much dry food are you feeding her now? |

| Thanks everyone for your help. Angel recently refused to eat due to she prefer meat (i feed her lamb few times mixed with dry food) now she prefer lamb and not dry food, please help...........she is getting thinner coz she refused to touch the dry food. |

| Joshua Joshua Have you asked the vet? Hoping that there is not another reason she isn't eating-she should be checked' Also, try wetting the dry food with warm water or some canned dog food. Is Angel 6 weeks old? If so that is early to be away from her Mother. Pups are supposed to stay with the mom for 8 wks. Also, let the vet know about this.
