Beamer's Golden Retriever Lifetime Study Thread

So, I thought I would make a thread to talk about my experience with this study!

I still haven't done much with it yet since I am still waiting on the package in the mail.

Last week I still hadn't received it and I called them- I thought that I had to wait to invite a vet until I got the materials. Turns out it was the other way around. So, I had one of my awesome vets fill out the form and I put in tomorrow's date for the appointment (since i work at the vet, I was just going to take him in to work with me one day).

Today I still hadn't gotten the package so I called again. Apparently their system has been messing up. All they can see is that the vet visit says 'scheduled.' The woman I spoke to entered another date for 9 days from now and said if I still didn't have the materials by the 19th then to call.

So that is where we are at now. She did say they are having a lot of issues, but I am looking forward to getting this stuff done. Beamer gets yearly bloodwork anyway, so I didn't see any reason not to do the study.

I would encourage anyone with a golden under 2 years old to sign up for this!

I think this is really interesting and I'm glad they are doing this. There's potential to learn a lot.

If I had a younger dog, I would sign her up for sure. You are contributing to the health and betterment of the breed - thank you.

I will be interested to follow your thread on this. Would love to sign up to it but they're only taking people living in the USA so we don't qualify. I wonder if there's anything similar for the UK?

Molly's Mum- I don't know if there is a UK equivalent, but maybe you could call the study people and see if they know of any.

Jennifer- Make sure you call them and be sure that they are going to send out your kit. They told me they are having a lot of issues. My fake appointment is scheduled for tomorrow and my kit didn't come today. Good think I didn't actually have anything officially scheduled.

Jordan had her appointment yesterday. I took her in with a full bladder and a bag of poop and they still kept her 4 hours. So be prepared. I also did Dr. Jean Dodds Nutrascan Allergy testing since she was already there. I should have those results in a couple weeks.

I see that Danielle in Customer Service has been helping you, but I wanted to check on the status of your kit shipment myself. The vet visit date that is showing in the system currently is 10/23/12. The kits are shipped via FedEx 3-Day delivery, and I show that our Fulfillment team is getting ready to ship your kit out very soon. If you don't receive it by 10/18/12, please call 855.4GR.DOGS and ask them to track the status of the package. I am sorry for the inconvenience you have experienced.

I have Bentley signed up too, I have emailed to the email address you gave in my thread because my vet has some questions. I have received no reply since sending it Oct 26th.
I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake in registering him because my vet is busy and won't have time for nonsense.
