I have Granger signed up, we are getting him neutered in Jan so hopefully we can wait that long to do his first appointment. It will be alot easier to just do everything at once imo.

I got word the other day that Beamer is now an official participant!! We are in! Now just waiting on our kit to get here in the mail yet again.

What kit are you waiting for? Was the Wisdom DNA part of the study? I didn't see that in Jordan's box. Jordan's thyroid came back lower that I would have expected but I think they only ran T4 and not the 6 panel. I will be running the 6 panel next time I have blood work, just to be sure. I think it is very exciting to be part of this!

SM- it is the owner's kit now they said they are shipping.
I had the wisdom panel done. I wish I could have seen the results of that just out of curiosity. I know all the ones I have seen done never turn out right.

Yes, they did just run a T4- maybe just try retesting her thyroid in a month or two. Or send out a panel to Michigan State if you are worried. Beamer's thyroid level when I ran it a few months ago was 1.2. I was a little worried then since it was slightly low for me. When I ran the bloodwork for the study it came back in the 2.0 range (can't remember the exact number). That bloodwork he was fasted for and the other he wasn't. Not sure if that played a part.

I didn't know about an owner's kit, I'll check it out. If you did the wisdom panel, you should get the results. I have always been pleased with mine. J's T4 was 1.5 on the study. I ran full panel before she was spayed and it was 2.5, so I am mildly concerned. I'll get it rechecked here soon.

This is what the email said- just part of it anyway:
"You will receive an Owner Welcome Kit in the mail within the next week, including an Owner Welcome Manual for the study and a few other items for you and your dog."

I think it is good to have it rechecked- I worried with Beamer's so I know you are worrying, too. But he had no signs/symptoms to lead me to believe he has a thyroid issue.

Glad i saw this thread to get me to finish it..i had started Lillys questionarre then it stopped working. I called them today and got it back working and finished it. I also signed my work up for it. My doctor heard about it recently too. I may try to locate a few clients with young goldens who may be wiling to do this.

Now just have to wait two weeks or so before the kit comes. Im kind of excited to be able participate and hope it makes a difference!

I still haven't received my owners kit. I called about it and they said the had to quit printing the welcome kits and will start up again in early 2013.
I'm curious what is on the kit. I am hoping the wisdom panel results are included
