What is a "zoomie"

This may sound like a dumb question, what is a zoomie? I've been reading this all over the place and don't know what it is. Silly question, I know...

Not silly at all!

A "zoomie" also known as a "FRAP" (Frenetic Random Activity Period) is when a dog—usually a young one—runs around like an insane animal. They sometimes make small circles, sometimes zig back and forth. If you have two dogs, one may start zoomieing and then set the other off.

Listening skills typically go out the window for the period of the zoomie.

The zoomie is common in the Golden Retriever. Some dogs never really grow out of it. Our dog Comet is closing in on five years old and still gets them fairly regularly.

I think a "Zoomie" is what I'd call that unexpected burst of wild n crazy energy your pup gets (when you really wanna be doing something else) and starts to crazily run this way n that, and that way n this, and back this way n that...over things, around things, Fast, Fast, Fast...

You obviously haven't had a puppy for a while, or call it something different!! We called it the "Evening Crazies" till I read about "Zoomies!" I Loved to watch Tailer do the Zoomies! He had so much fun!! Ahhh...memories...

Max gets the zooms whenever I say "ZOOM ZOOM!" He's five, and I hope he never outgrows them - although they are less frequent than when he was younger. I remember one glorious day when he flew into the house, zoomed around the kitchen and slid into the family room - all in the space of a few minutes. Not much can make me laugh harder than a Golden with the zooms.

I love watching the "zoomies", Hank is 3+ yrs. and still gets them. He had an episode just this past Friday, running around the yard after being stuck indoors for 2 days due to rain. I hope he never outgrows it!

I hate the zoomies. Ever try to catch a biting puppy who as they go by you bites and pinches. You try to grab her and thens he thinks it's a game. With all my other dogs, I just stood in a safe spot to not get knocked down. For Tayla I try not to be in the vacinity.
