| Potty training question In 28 days we'll bring home our puppy. I'm reading about potty training now and I think I'm more confused now than before starting this book. The author suggests a crate as well as a puppy play area. Ok. He says an hour in the crate, outside to use the bathroom and then play. So what does that look like? How much later after play do you go back to the crate for a bit? I've never used a crate but then again I've only had a dog, not a puppy. But he also says that in the puppy play area (especially used when you're not home) to use an indoor potty area within the play area. Basically putting an open door crate in the play area with the potty area away from it. Do you guys suggest an indoor potty area? My husband and I will be home for the first 2 weeks after brining home the puppy. After that my mom will be there each day so we're going to train her too. Lol! |

| I have to agree with Nancy. We took Buddy outside every twenty minutes or so, we were fortunate that he clued in to going outside. I believe that if you have an indoor potty area, it will confuse your pup. |
