Thought I'd throw this out there somewhere????
I didn't know if it belonged in the competition forum (that's what I train for), puppy through 1 year forum (because I'm amazed at how big my baby boy child is getting!), or here... this seemed like a good spot since this is general obedience type training.
This is a 12 week old puppy from a conformation breeder.
Ignore the background noise.
Really quickly -
1. This is how I train downs with the hand signal (treat pinched between a couple fingers). It would generally be smoother than that, but I was trying to stay out of the camera and Bert kept trying to scootch over to me.
2. This is how I train "touch". I realized last year how important it is to train a good "touch" command to your dogs. It is a GREAT TOOL. o_O
3. This is how I train "loose lead walking" or the very basic foundation of heeling. I want my dog walking at my side and looking up and sitting when I stop.
ETA - The funny thing is when I was going over the "touch" video, Bertie kept coming up and climbing into my lap. MESMERIZED. Touch is his favorite training game, and hearing me on the computer just confuzzled him.
