More training? Fluffy question.

So, Maddie is almost eight months old. She now knows the basics of obedience and other training (sit, stay, down, come, heel, side, find, chill, leave it, etc.) and has gone through a number of training classes.

I just taught her to weave (weave figure 8's between and around my legs) and paw. Now I want to teach her 'spin.' Is there a correct direction (and hand signal) for spin? And what is the name commonly used for the reverse spin.

It's whatever you want. I use spin for the dog to go counterclockwise (signal given with left hand) and twist for them to go clockwise (signal given with right hand).

Remember there is a hand signal that initially is you luring the dog around with a treat. Do it slowly until the dog gets the idea. Both sides can and should be taught - and you can teach your dog to do it in front of you and also train them in heel position.

Jacks does both right and left. The verbal command I give is "spin" and "other way" <- whichever way he spins first, he knows to go the opposite way on command. :)
