| I should clarify: The post alluding to training our dogs to keep them out of shelters is the one that bothered me ... not Kate's response to that same post. Quote:

| Went training tonite had a pretty good session. Nugget did several go outs nice and straight and best of all he is retrieving the dumbell not perfect but he is getting it and coming to me but drops it in front wanting his treat . We will fix this in time . Didn't get one straight front on the recall and only one good finish out of three. Heeling and Fiq. 8 very good so was the stand. Overall a good nite he's learning and coming along. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com App |

| Back to Basics ![]() I just signed Faelan and Towhee up for a Daisy Peel online Fundamentals course - a few things that came up in a seminar with her were interesting and while they didn't show up with my dogs, that was sheer chance. Like setting a jump 3 feet from a tunnel, sending to the jump and having the dog wrap back to you without verbals ... hmmmm .. methinks Faelan would have gone through that tunnel a time or two LOL I might be able to do the exercises with Brady using jump bumps, we'll see. And Casey will have a blast! But their videos will not be sent in for review.

| I am just returned from an agility run thru. Faelan did very, very well! Both runs had 20 obstacles including all the contacts and pause table and he ran fast enough to finish at least twice in 90 seconds. Brady was brought in for meet n greets before the meeting and when run thrus were completed;he got to meet both the dogs and people he will be seeing a lot of and he was quite a hit He is quite enamored/intriqued with one pug who kind or squeaks her way through the agility course!Towhee did not go since she is due/overdue for her season so no advance planning is going on right now for her, Casey kept her company. Brady has outgrown his 18 inch collar so we stopped at Amway to fit him for his next collar (actually first we stopped at the Tails store but they did not have plain jane, metal buckle webbed collars); he played meet n greet there as well. We practiced baby basics in all stops - sit, down, come, wraps, fronts, spins, touch, stand etc. We have rental in a bit - all 4 dogs and I.
