| I decided I absolutely, positively cannot handle another commute from he!! and so am not going to the obedience show today. Seriously, Tues I spent almost 7 hours on the road (should have been less than 3) and yesterday it was over 2 hours to get home (should have been 45-60 minutes). I think Towhee knows she was supposed to be going today since she was and is licking my face, but I am also sure she will enjoy her hike and her non-banshee feeling person much more. Happy Thanksgiving all

| Jonah and I did 1 BJ, 1 go-out, 3 fronts and 1 DOR, 2 sets of signals, and a teensy bit of heeling. We had fun and then went back in the house to watch Gone With the Wind. Is anyone going to try for a Rally Advanced title in the next few months. I'm thinking of doing it just before we start showing in Open. Is it good experience to get the dog ready for the Open ring?

| I took Flip to the local agility trial today so we could train on dirt. While I was unloading the brand new bottle of rescue remedy came out of my bag and broke. So much for that. Have I ever mentioned how much I love this dog's signals? If not: I love this dog's signals! We did signals in the bleachers, signals near the agility ring, signals in yucky dirt. None of it phases him and he give quick, perky, spunky signals every time. We did a lot of articles, since that's my biggest concern with showing him on dirt. He did pretty good, picked up a wrong article the first time but was right every time after that. And more importantly didn't do dirt sniffing.

| One day next weekend. It will be his first time to do utility on dirt so I'm nervous

| OMG!! The Sunfire crew are doing very, very well at the biggest show in New England ... but ... obedience rings apparently are being inundated by little flocks of sparrows flying around and scurrying about in the rings while the dogs are working - one rottie was apparently really being harassed on stays by little flocks of little birds in the buildings. Boy oh boy am I glad my little Towhee bird did not get to join in the fun! See, all things do happen for a reason and my being totally fed up with traffic and refusing to drive up was perhaps helpful. Faelan was never entered but I am hearing dogs had to go through the sparrows and work around then for scent articles <gulp> Some really nice dogs are being affected; I mean who thinks to train for little flocks of birds out & about? Okay, actually I can see Ms Towhee putting on her 'game on' face and showing the birds they can't distract her, but I can also see her not...

| Good luck on the dirt floor. We showed in an indoor horse arena last weekend and Jonah surprised me. The only really bad thing he did was try to grab a bright orange tag stuck in the dirt to mark the figure 8 stewards. I am going to start training retrieves and articles on dirt floors too. My neighbor has a horse arena so I will see if she will let me come over and train there.
