Past week of training for Tugg: didn't go to agility class last week, not sure if I am going tomorrow. The off leash freedom seems to be back firing with the control we need for obedience work, and since my first love is and always will be, obedience, until he is a little older and more mature, don't think agility is for us. And I had a bad headache Wednesday night and had to skip our obedience class. I did manage to go to drop in training this morning, he did well, his stand stays are lovely, makes me very happy. And during our long sits and downs, on the down, his pal Oak got up and dashed over to Tugg to say hello and my puppy didn't budge. I was very proud of him, it could have been mayhem if these two exuberant puppies decided to play tag.

Jake, our first but not our last. Gone far too soon.

I had a fairly active training day - this morning I brought Brady to Petco to get a new collar. Then we had socialization hour in the plaza Brady is sitting for greeting pretty consistently and only came across one person who he went wide around. Then we stopped at one of my gun clubs and I tossed a wing a few times while shooting was going on - this worked very well until the guys all stopped shooting to admire Brady; but he got to meet a lot of men who smelled of guns & cigarettes & cigars and such and loved it! And the guys seemed to love him as well

Then we worked some at home.

I had a rental this evening, Casey decided to sleep in but for the others

Faelan: Go Outs, directed jumping, scent articles, signal exercises, more go outs with various toys thrown about, tug, moving stand, ROF, ROH, broad Jumps (3 different mini sessions)

Towhee: Heeling, heeling and more heeling. Recalls, ROF, ROH, stand for exam, tug, ring entrances and set ups. More tug. I forgot the Figure 8 and I have to practice downs tomorrow; she frequently curls when going down so I need to address this but it is obviously not one of my favorite exercises LOL 3 mini sessions for her

Brady: Crate games, entering the ring, sit, down, stand, whack-the-baby, tug, baby get-it, get-it, get-it come games, more crate games, shadow handling for front crosses, baby heeling. Brady only had 2 mini sessions.

I was alone this session so ended up leaving before the 2 hours were up, but feel we got a LOT done. There had been run thrus during the day so in addition to the toys & such I put out, there was fluff & such on the floor - I was very much surprised that Faelan was distracted on his Go-Outs once he noticed the fluff etc, so added tug toys, bars etc to help him work through the Go-Outs (yes, they need to be straight and you do need to keep going even if a white label seems to be calling your name). It was a hard session for Faelan I think, since he didn't even notice all the stuff while heeling but wham!! on the Go-Outs he did.

Susan - that is a gorgeous bag! And unique to your Filly<:

I trained jumps today. Did retrieves ONLY with the 16" height. He did all of these perfectly.

I then put the dumbbell away and bumped the height up to 22". Went in close to the jump and did a lot of support work to help Jacks out. This is in our basement, so he did get antsy and knock the jump down the first try. This is why I train with a light jump that just falls apart when tipped. With me in close, I was able to get him jumping properly instead of rushing the jump and jumping too soon. I was fairly pleased with the jumps he did, even though it will be a while before I introduce dumbbells at the bigger heights here at home. I think right now I'm mainly focusing on rebuilding his confidence and making this fun and routine again.
