Hello all, I'm hoping to get some advice and opinions.
My boy Jaijai just turned 16. It wasn't an easy year for him; in June his health went downhill when he had a stroke, then in November, he couldn't walk anymore, he whines and barks constantly throughout the day.
Yesterday we were hit with devastating news, there's a large tumour in Jaijai's stomach that might burst and bleed at any moment. There's not much time left.. with his current condition he'll be leaving us in about two to three weeks.
The vet told us at this point there's not much we can do for him but try to let him live his last days comfortably and happily. She prescribed some pain killers for him, but so far it doesn't seems to be doing much because he still cries sometimes, though he quiets down when we stay by his side and pet him.
My sister insists that we let him go right now before the tumour bursts and cause him great pain. I'm so lost on what to do.. Jaijai still loves food and he knows when it's meal time, he looks at us and lift his head to acknowledge everybody despite being paralysed.. but whenever he cries it breaks my heart to know he's hurting... is now the time to let go..?
