There are tons of high energy dogs in shelters!

I do what I like and like what I do. Yorkies- Cozy (4/1/06), Roxy & Zoey (2/11/08), Lucy (4/6/09); Golden- Buddy (4/13/09- Rescued 12/11) Maine Coon cats- Mika (1998) and Tallulah (2000)

I did yes! A breeder out of Calgary. Breeds the high drive field Goldens.

I know...I've looked high and low. There was also a point, I was going to go w/ a rescued GSD (since they are also one of my heart breeds), but I'd be writing a novel here on those failed attempts.

Ultimately, I've realized it has to be a good fit for my current boy. I can't compromise his safety & comfort.

Flash

I agree with what MikaTallulah said.
I adopted my female Golden Retriever, Smooch, from a shelter and she was very HIGH energy.

I'm not sure if you ever found a breeder or have gotten a pup. But there is a breeder in Kimball, MN that is excellent. They breed very smart, healthy, trainable, willing dogs. In addition to great dogs, they take care with their breeding process so you will get a healthy dog. Check out their information and their process.

They have 3 upcoming litters planned...fall, winter and early 2014.

Good luck!
