| Killian, the boy next door 1996-2012 Killian, my neighbors golden went to the bridge around 2pm with his whole human family home with for Thanks giving. I met Killian when I moved 12 years ago. He was four. My first golden had no use for him. After Pronto and Disco came to live with me Killian began running away from home to my house to visit. That was seven and a half years ago. The humans took turns looking after each others snubberheads. I grew on Killian and him on me.I've wanted to write about him before but there was no way I was going to Jinx the rare ultra senior golden. This past Monday he couldn't get up. He refused his first meal ever. My neighbor took him to the vet. Huge mass on spleen. I felt the mass this summer. The vet agreed to come over Friday to let him go. He rallied Tuesday, Wednsday and Thursday giving his humans the best gift a golden can give. I went over Tuesday to say goodbye. He was practically glowing. He was so content and at peace watching us drink wine and talk about him. He hasn't been able to hear over the last year or so. Yesterday at around 2 pm he went to the bridge. My neighbor has gotten ready and dug his grave. I went over today. Killian is lying facing my house the direction he always looked to see if my two where out. He was as smart as any golden I've know. His humans were trained very well by him. Goodbye Mr. K your were a very cool dog and a good boy. your friendly human next door, Alex The photo is this past Tuesday, He was glowing |
