| Puppy food and dog food recommendations I'm very overwhelmed by the amount of dogfoods there are out there! I read all forum postings so far and think I narrowed it down to: Innova evo Fromm Blue Orijen If anyone has info to share I'd love to hear it! I've heard some say they are pricey, cause poo issues, etc. If you could list your dogs age also that would be great! And to what age do you feed them puppy food? Thanks all ![]() Puppy dogs Ffur.com |

| I cannot attest to the other three, however Innova I used to sell when I worked for a pet supply store in college. Most people with coat or skin issues went with California Natural (Lamb & Rice), which is also sold by Natura. California Natural Dog Food, Natural Cat Food & Nutritious Dog Treats – Natura Pet Products That said, I am in a very rural area now and I feed my dogs Iams or Eukanuba because it is more readily available in stores near us. Anything higher in protein and not as much filler will help with producing smaller poops. If my dogs had coat issues or allergies, then I would probably be looking into higher end foods versus say, supplementation or medication. The Natura line was probably the most sold at the pet supply I worked at during that time, and we received many compliments about that food line. |

Thanks Raerae... I was going to look up the raw diet next in other forum posts |

| I've never fed Innova or Orijen, but I can tell you that my dog is THRIVING on Fromm and he was also doing really well on Blue for awhile before there was a formula change that just didn't agree with his tummy. My brother in law has his littermate and feeds him Blue and he does great on it.

| Again in reference to feeding raw, it costs me 60$ at most to feed both dogs for a month. I give them a large variety and they never get bored. Plus it is waaayy cheaper than the more expensive kibble, a cost I also had a hard time swallowing. |

| I feed Blue and my dogs do well. Dog food is a very personal experience. My best suggestion is see what your vet recommends and look at the ingredients. I stay away from corn, many dogs are "allergic". However the best thing I can say is find the best you can afford. As you have seen some are really expensive. We looked at Orijen.... My dogs do not do well grain free. There are so many things to consider, what is your pup on now? You don't want to make too drastic of a change. My breeder sent me home with Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul. We have switched to Blue Buffalo Chicken and Rice puppy formula. When I told my breeder we had some diarrhea issues, she said take her off Chicken Soup. She said her dogs coats, went bad, and Ruger Gabby's brother had tummy issues. That does not mean all dogs will but I responded we were in process of switching her. My sister fed Pedigree to her golden for 15.5 years and did fine.

| We are having very good results from using Taste of the Wild. Its a natural grain free moderately priced and our vet who is very well known in the Golden circles here in New England says its a very good food indeed
