Hello! I know there is an old post about this but I just wanted to clarify to make sure everything should be ok.

Got my 1 year old Simba neutered 9 days ago. About three days ago I noticed his testicale sac started filling with some sort of fluid. Each day, it slowly got bigger. So far, it has not gotten any bigger than this size.

I was wondering if I should be concerned or just let it sit?

We made the mistake of taking him on a 2.0 mile walk he always did 3 days after surgery.

He has the cone on 24/7 and is now restricted to the home. I have been massaging the ball as well as applying warm compresses but it is not getting any smaller.

Also, his incision site appears to have scabbed over. No drainage, fluid, etc. He is still super loving and the same ol Lion King.

Thanks guys!

Took him to the vet.

They gave him an anti-inflammatory and antibiotics.

They said he is borderline needing surgery again due to the size. I am supposed to re-eval on Tuesday.

I'm wondering if they are going to just aspirate it or actually remove the sac?

What did they say the surgery would do? Don't feel shy about asking every question you have to your vet. If they don't tell you, ask. You are your dog's advocate and you need to be fully informed to make decisions.

I'm really glad you took him in. That sac looked worrisome. I hope the meds help and he doesn't need the surgery in the end. Did they tell you what might have caused it?
