Monte had diarrhea twice last night and once this morning. Vomited this morning. He's acting like his regular self. Just an upset tummy or call the vet?
I'm a worry wart.
His tummy is soft feels normal. He doesn't feel warmer than usual. He's feisty and has energy he wants to eat and drink. I have ice cubes down for him.
Just went through this with our 12 week old Finley. Loose stool and vomiting in the night, but acting like his normal self otherwise. If I were you, I'd call the vet, but here is our story.
Because I am a nervous mommy, we went to the vet the next morning (wasn't on the weekend). After his fecal test came back negative, and he wasn't running a fever, they determined that it was probably something he ate (either new training treats I had tried, or something from the yard...he puts anything and everything in his mouth).
At their advice, we've been feeding him boiled chicken breast and rice at a 1 to 3 ratio, and making sure he gets plenty of liquid. They recommended isotonic fluids such as coconut water or pedialyte. Turns out he loves coconut water. They also prescribed Fast Balance GI paste to help soothe his GI tract. Vet visit wasn't cheap, but the peace of mind was worth it to me.
How old is your pup? I went through something similar with Cooper at about 14 and a half weeks. Was having really loose stools in the middle of the night and woke me up 2-3 times a night to go out and have the squirts, but other than that he was his good ol' self. He got into some mulch earlier that day so it more than likely upset his stomach really bad, and it was fine after a couple of nights.
Hopefully it's just an upset stomach! If Cooper's soft stools continued for a third night in a row I would have called the vet to see what I could do for him, but it fixed itself.
Awwww cooper is the exact same age as Monte!! Day and year.. I gave him some rice mixed with pumpkin so far it's staying down and in. I'm trying to get him to rest which is hard so I'm staying out of the room. If I'm there he will want to play if not he will lie down,
Yes he's crate trained and will tell us most of the time when he needs to go outside. His pee pad was dry all day because he went outside
