Our little Crosby was born on May 9th, 2016 and our Gotchya day was July 3, 2016... just in time for Fireworks Weekend! He was a champ, given he had never heard fireworks before. He has done extremely well his first week learning his name and the command "Here" and "Go Potty" in the first few days. He took to his night time crate right away and slept through the night by night three! He is a little butterball of love at eight weeks. Here are his first photos.

9 Weeks!

Here we are already at 9 Weeks! Time flies when you're chasing a puppy around. His new name is Bitey McBiterson. He likes to dive and bite. He is also finding chewing baskets and furniture fun. The bitter apple spray is working, though!

He goes out to go potty all on his own 90% of the time. He has free roam of the living room and kitchen as he has still not taken to his day crate. We have not left him alone yet so I'm still working on this because at some point we are going to have to have a life!

Landsharking has begun! He flies around the house like a maniac. It's pretty entertaining to watch! We had one mishap with puppy teeth already. My son made the mistake of wrestling with him and tooth scratched ear and now son looks like he got in a nasty brawl. Made for good conversation for him and the bros though until he had to confess it was a puppy wound.

We are still working on the AKC name. The litter theme is the MOON so still debating exactly how to incorporate that into what themes I already had in mind.

Sir Crosby is 10 Weeks today! Last night was full of surprises. He got a cork out of the spiced rum bottle in the dry bar. He tipped over a large rod iron easel in which he got his paw stuck. I thought for sure we were going to have our first trip to the ER with a broken arm and the doctor was going to ask Crosby if he had been drinking. :p

All Rummed out....

12 Weeks!!!

Crosby is giving me a run for my money. Literally! We had a flea outbreak which lead to tapeworms. The fleas also lead to dermatitis and a really awesome all over rash. My very expensive dog looks like an orphan! So I'm either cleaning the dog, putting something on the dog, removing something off the dog, or cleaning up after the dog. I'm exhausted!

He has learned the following commands this week: fetch and drop it! He can't quite get "down" but we're working on it!

He is still very, very active and not too cuddly. I hope that changes. He does like to be picked up and held however when he greets you in the mornings and coming home. He is quite attached and must be near me at all times. But, he has gotten accustomed to being left alone and is having accidents in the house very rarely! Crosby is a great addition to the family!

Three and a Half Months!

A Day In The Life Of Crosby....

Crosby jumps in baby pool. Swim, swim. Jump out of baby pool and quickly bypass mom who is patiently waiting with fresh towel. Instead run as fast as possible to the pile of pine needles and dirt and roll in those.

NO CROSBY! Crosby Here!

Dunk Crosby back in pool and try to get off all pine needles and dirt. Now baby pool is filthy. Again. Hold tightly to dog with towel getting him out of pool and in house. Dry off using 2 towels and one for the hard wood floors that he is running and skidding on. Ok Dry.

Time passes. Go outside. Crosby don't go in your.... Too late. In the pool. Out of the pool. Scream frantically.... "CROSBY HERE HERE TREAT TREAT" before he heads to the pine needles. It works. He's in the house. You race to get him a treat. He practically breaks all four legs sliding into the kitchen. You give him a treat, grab a towel and start the drying process, AGAIN. Ok Dry.

Repeat. FOUR MORE TIMES.

EXCEPT THE LAST TIME HE MAKES IT TO THE PINE NEEDLES.
AND. He not only rolls in it, he slides his head and his ears in it. So now there is no other choice but full on bath. He goes into the garage sink. You get the shampoo. You get MORE towels. He's happy. He smells good. You of course are soaked. You don't care. You just want to sit down at this point. You take your wet fuzzy baby to the living room. It's dark out. You dry him off. Thank God he's cute. Thank God he smells good. Thank God you own lots of towels because they are now ALL dirty. You throw all the towels in the wash. You want to cry. But secretly you like the smell of pine pitch. It reminds you of being a kid. And you love that darn dog.

The End.

Crosby 16 Weeks

Crosby is weighing in at 33.5 lbs already! He is completely house trained and no longer needs his crate at night! He of course sleeps with me. He is progressing on DOWN, STAY, HEEL, SHAKE and CIRCLES! His RECALL, SIT, OFF, FETCH and DROP IT are solid... no treats needed! I'd say he knows language pretty well! I'm fairly sure he knows "let's go" "walk" "treat" "back up" "wait" "come on" "Hagan" "Mommy" "outside". It truly blows me away how smart these dogs are! They are so sweet! His temperament is great and he has an innate sense to be gentle and calm around kids. I love this boy!

Crosby is 4.5 months and passed his AKC Puppy Kindergarten! He made a new BFF with a little Duck Toller Retriever named, Bodie. Crosby is definitely a handful and I should just adopt the song Me And My Shadow as our theme. I can't take three steps from the sofa to the fireplace without Croz joining me :-/. He is a love and thank goodness he's cute! I saw this meme on Facebook today so thought I'd share. Enjoy!
