Finally I am starting a thread for Cedar, my baby boy. He’s 12 weeks today, came from a tracking family, and is a very smart and confident pup!
I never can do enough to tire him out, whether it’s playing or training at home or out for a 30 min sniff/walk. All except puppy school. He’s exhausted after puppy school and he will sleep for a good amount of time. At puppy school, my puppy is the one who can’t sit still. He has to eat the grass, dig up the grass, find that shiny thing in the field, also embarrassingly, throw tantrums when I forbid him my shoelaces. On week 1, he’s afraid of walking up and down the seesaw, and then on week 2, he’s jumping all over it, falling off it, and most importantly (to him) chewing it up.
Of course, his biting is just driving me crazy – all these bruises and cuts - and it’s taking all my strength to be patient and consistent. I’ve already spoken about that in another thread. But one good thing he’s learned is to settle down in his crate. He has a lullaby that I recite and if he’s moderately tired, he will go to sleep.
Another awesome game he’s learned is that if I sit at a particular spot and hold a particular toy, he will climb up my lap and bite that toy. He chews this till he falls asleep, and then I carry him to his crate.
Enjoy some pictures of baby Cedar!
