Here is George Kerby. We adopted George at 7 weeks old on March 2nd. Here he is one day after we adopted him.
Getting a good clear shot is pretty hard, as you probably all know. The little guy moves around all the time.
He is a great puppy. Already knows his sit and down command - which is 2 more commands than his Scottish Terrier sister knows after 6 years! Housebreaking going well - usually - too.
And here is George at nearly 8 weeks old, about a week after the first pic. He is getting quite comfortable with his surroundings, as you might can tell from the way he is strutting here. (Don't worry - the collar comes off before he goes in his crate)
About his name- most of you know about little Cary Grant and his death from mitral valve stenosis. Well, George Kerby is a character CG played in Topper - a ghost.
What Dichi litter is George Kerby from? Just wondering if we have litter mates? Our Dichi pup was from Tux x Stella and we picked him up on March 11th. He was born Jan. 13th. George Kerby is a good looking fella! I love his color!
Here is George this week, at 10 weeks old with our 6 year old Scottish Terrier, Ainsley. George and Ainsley get along well - usually. When Ainsley comes home from a walk, George gives Ainsley a happier greeting than he gives us! They are quite close, play quite a bit, but sometimes Ainsley gets a little cranky with George.
Ainsley is an unusual Scottie - she learned to take a backseat for her first 5 years with her late Scottie brother Angus, and we are seeing some strong signs that she is going to be submissive to George, and let George be the alpha dog.
As you see, George is already bigger than Ainsley, height wise. And George weighed in yesterday morning at 15.7 pounds, so in just 4 more pounds, George will outweigh Ainsley.
Here is George this past Saturday - 12 weeks and 3 days. Sitting next to his Scottish Terrier sister, 6 year old Ainsley. George already is 18.3 pounds. Ainsley is getting groomed this week. Can you tell from her beard that George tugs at it a lot, lol?
George gets his next round of shots this Friday - we can't wait. Hope Dr. Pokey gives us the all clear to get him out and about. Nice Looooooooooong walks would be great with his energy levels that are now off the charts!
I am so happy to see you have your sweet little George. What a perfect name. I know your Cary Grant would approve and would want you to be happy. George is adorable.
I am definitely a fan and can't wait till Baci can go somewhere more than my back yard. 7500 steps of going out just doesn't feel exciting. But I am sure it is for him. Is your dog's mom or dad an English cream?
Is there a way to get to read all your post like be his fan?
George had a big week last week. He met a fellow Golden Retriever for the first time since he left his Mama and siblings back on March 2nd!
A friend brought her 1 year old Golden, Rudy, to play with George. Rudy, though, didn't quite know what to make of this 3 month old pup that kept wanting to wrestle and romp with Rudy - all Rudy wanted to do was retrieve balls. But to Rudy's credit he was very patient with George- never growled or barked and when George got too rambunctious Rudy would just keep his distance.
All in all, it was a good experience for George. Will be getting the two together, along with Rudy's twin brother, Tucker, soon, we hope.
