How much to feed

Hi

I need to know how much to feed Milo as he has become extremely lethargic since yesterday. He keeps sleeping and doesn't play at all. He was okay when we got him 5 days back. For 3 days he was okay. Last two days not so much.

He is about 8 weeks old, born on 5th September 2013.

We feed him royal canine maxi starter for puppies of large dogs.

We give him a little more than 3 cups of pellets in a day, divided across 4 meals. Prepared in water to form a full bowl for each meal.

How much should we feed him? Is this normal?

Thank You so much

Aakshey

If I remember correctly, my puppy slept a lot for the first couple months. Has he seen a vet? The bag should say how much to feed them and each brand is different. What brand is it?

If he's suddenly lethargic for a couple days, I would call the vet. At this point, he should be bouncing off the walls with energy and excitement.

The food amount sounds alright, but there could be some other problem.

I would call the vet, just to make sure. Three cups sounds like a lot for an 8 week old puppy, but it depends on the food and the individual puppy.

Is he peeing and pooping normally? When did he last pee? poop? Is he drinking water? If he is eating 3 cups of food a day, his need for water will high.

Has he been to the vet for a well-check? Has he had a fecal? Any shots (not sure what shots are necessary over there)?

Yeah, your puppy should be driving you crazy by now. Bentley also came home at 7 weeks and was into everything. He has not slowed down much since we have had him (21 wks). Bentley slept a lot during his first 4 months but now(5 months) is pretty active. Have you dog checked out and let us know what the deal was.

Good luck! I hope it is just something minor and easily taken care of.

The vet says he is fine.

When he gets 3 meals 8 hrs apart he is still playful and okay. He runs a lot then. With 4 meansl 6 hrs apart he keeps sleeping.

Hi, could someone help me about the amount which goes into a "cup". I'm used to metric measures and am slightly unsure. The vet told us to give Henry 4 times 50 grams at 9 weeks, which I have upped to about 70 grams per time, as he looked too thin to me. He ist now 13 weeks and weighs around 20 pounds. - Thankyou
