We brought our puppy home last night, and it was a girl instead of a boy! We totally set out to get a boy puppy this time, but this little girl just stole our heart (and met our temperament requirements

)
The problem is, we didn't think of any girl names so she's stuck being called pup pup for a few days while we research.
It was kind of bittersweet to see her say goodbye to her mom - she was still trying to nurse! (her mom is the darker golden in the 9th and 10th pictures)
She has been SO GOOD (knock on wood 100 times) so far - slept during the 2 hr drive home (got a little sick toward the end), charmed our neighbors, slept through the night (8:30-5:30), minimal fussing before falling asleep, no accidents so far - although that's mostly because we're bringing her outside every 15 minutes lol. We just did some eye contact training during breakfast and she caught on really fast.
Chaya was kind of jealous at first, but now is coming around a bit because having her around means she gets treats too

. Everyone is having a rest/crate time now that breakfast and play is over. She's fussing a bit but I'm going to be strong and ignore her
She's a little nippy, but nothing like what I'd expect so I'm grateful. I'm using those opportunities to teach "drop it", and basically at this point I'm just stuffing cookies in her mouth lol.
Later we're going to the vet for her fecal exam and bordetella shot to prepare for puppy class in a few weeks. I'm falling in love!
