I rescued "Gracie" (born 9-28-12) this weekend. She was bought at 7 weeks and within a week was found to have eaten rat poison. Was taken to the Vet but owners could not afford the vet bill. Vet turned her over to the local rescue. She went to puppy bootcamp and a friend who works with the rescue contacted me as I had been looking for a puppy.

She is 14 weeks old, weighs 18 pounds, looks to be on the very skinny side, but I am hoping that she will turn into a more chubba pup soon.

My 4 year old is not impressed and ignores her thus far.

maybe you can tell how brave she is...going for Georgia's ball and georgia is not thrilled. I am hoping that Gracie will develop a different obsession. if she starts taking a liking to georgia's balls, we will have a problem!

We rescued my MacKenzie at about the same age, similar type of situation. She had a cat injure her eye, and the family either could not afford the vet bills or refused to. The rescue fixed her up and I adopted her.

MacKenzie also was very lean, and still is. She is just built differently than my other golden and VERY active.

She's a cutie. 14 weeks is still very young I hope there are no lasting effects of the poison. I bet Gracie will adore her soon.
