Today we noticed that Ripley has a small exposed boney protrudence at the tip of his tail. I can hardly see it because of all of the hair. Basically it feels and looks like a small claw. I don't know if this is normal or something like an exposed vertebrae that I should get looked at. Like I said, it's very small and he doesn't chew on it or anything like that. However, he has never been a fan of us playing with his tail in general. Anyways, what do you all think? Thanks again!

Hhmm I've never heard of that. I did have a convo with my Vet about Bentleys tail because I was concerned if it was possible to break a tail. Bentley bangs his tail on everything because he's a happy guy. The Vet told me not to worry about it because it would take a lot to break it.
I would ask your Vet next time you see him though.
