I want to build a little area on my decking for isla to pee on so that I don't have to keep standing in my PJs every morning in full view of the neighbours!

I know you can buy these but they're super expensive, plus they don't seem to take the weight of isla.

i've heard real turf is a bad idea as it gets muddy quickly (and from previous experience it does tend to look like a swamp after a while) so itll probably need to be fake turf. Also, i know if needs to drain but i can't have it staining the wooden decking (or worse) because I rent the property.

Has any body made somehting like this, or any tips?

You could get dressed before you take her out or make it look like you are full dressed- Sleep in sweat pants or change into pant then put on big coat zipped up when you go outside.

I don't even let my little ones pee on the deck let alone Buddy.

If it was me I would just wear the weirdest PJs I could find with a crazy hat- Really give them something to talk about

I have to agree with the others on this. I don't think that's a good idea. It would be sending missed messages to Isla.
I would just keep a long robe by the door if you're concerned about the neighbors. Personally I go out in my yard all the time in my pj's. I figure I'm paying taxes to do what I want in my yard and if it bothers someone to see an old lady in pj's then their head is turned in the wrong direction and I can't fix that for them

Fair enough - to be honest, i just wanted to make good use of my decking for her, allow her to run around and also toilet if she needs to. There is only a small area outside the front door which is mainly mud and ivy so i wanted something a bit nicer for her.
Personally, i don't really mind about the PJs (except when its raining!), ive done it since day dot. However, since moving a month a go I do wonder how the other dog owners in my building do it (im ground floor and never ever see any one else with their dog out there).

Cruise ships have an area that they have for service dogs to use, maybe if somebody knows what they use. I think it is some kind of artificial turf.
