I always give the dogs fresh veggies with their last meal of the day. Last night all I had was asparagus, Ky wouldn't go near it so I gave it all to Bentley.
He loved it, scarfed it all down and wanted more. I thought, it's a holiday and veggies are good for him..why not. He ate quite a lot of it.
This is a public service announcement:
Save yourself...don't do it!!!
If I owned a gas mask I would have worn it to bed! Who knew a puppy was even capable of producing that much stink?! :yuck:
The funny part was even the smell bothered him but he kept looking at us like WE were making that smell

Noted! Oh Joyce, Bentley's a legend! Barnaby stole and ate a tin of baked beans once and the result, well your description of needing a gas mask is spot on. Go Bentley!!
When I started reading this thread, I wondered if you were going to regret your decision. Hope Bentley knows better for next time Ky was the smart one, I would turn my nose up at asparagus too.
yup yup: "There have been reports of very stinky gas, green colored poo, and even in a rare case diarrhea, although most owners do not report any side effects. If you would like to give your dog asparagus, I recommend giving a bit at a time to see how your dog reacts to it."
I was once stuck in a car with a broken window and a very flatulant puppy. She went off every couple of minutes and the journey felt like eternity. My friend drove with his head hanging out the window. I feel your pain
Molly has gas today too! We were walking on a trail and she let out two bad ones.. I asked my bf to make sure, "did you fart??" He said, "no, I know that smell. Definitely a Mo fart." It was probably from the hamburger meat I gave her last night..
I'm reminded of our family taking long trips in the car as kids. We always had a dog in the back of the station wagon (remember the station wagon?). The poor dog always got blamed regardless of whether or not she was guilty. Are you sure it was Bentley?
It's funny you say that because last night with the 1st one we smelled DH turned to me and said, "That had better be the dog!"
We were both laughing so hard we had tears!
hahahahaha i cant stop laughing!!! chester has had gas today as well. he farted and then looked at us and left the room...almost like he was laughing at us and we didnt understand it until we actually smelled it.
That brings back memories for me too....We had a station wagon, and Dad liked to travel. Every Spring Break he'd load us up and we would head East, been all over East of the Mississippi....Christmas break he'd load us up and we would go to Minnesota to visit family.
I won't go into details, would be to long, but we played the "license plate" game and did a lot of singing. Gosh those were good times....
That's so true, their face is always glued to a screen! And it doesn't seem to matter where they are they always seem to be face down tied to that monitor. But you know I'm sure our parents felt the same way about television.
That's true. My parents limited our TV watching but it wasn't really a big deal considering we only had 3 channels and one of us was in charge of holding the antennae in just the right spot for the entire show
