The bathroom she is in is right next to the room we are in. She can see us, we talk to her, play with her over the gate. We dont have a yard to play with her in at the moment. We just have a small area where she goes potty. Our back yard is a mud pit and we cant do anything about it until the weather gets better. It is always way to cold and or rainy outside for playing anyways. Where we live it rains almost 9 months a year with very little breaks. We do play a lot inside, but she'll stop in the middle and just pee with no warning. One days she pee'd inside probably 8ish times in a matter of 15 minutes, plus a few more times outside. Everytime we took her out we thought YAY.... then she'd come right back in a pee again.

How long are you staying outside when you take her out to pee? My old dog used to pee a little in one spot, then pee a little in another...it took such a long time for him to get it all out!

Do you pick her up and bring her outside when you catch her peeing? I feel like that's the best way to stop it mid pee and teach her to go outside. I did this with our other dog, and not once did he pee on me...so that's good

We taught our last dog to hit the door when he wanted to go out. So he would literally hit the door with his paw and we could hear tell us when he wanted to go out. That would be another idea if you don't want to do the bell. Have you tried praising her with treats when she pees outside? You may need to up the ante a little...while simultaneously helping to train her bladder to last a little longer!

I guess I never quite experienced that. Once Bella peed, she was done for a while. As SMBC mentioned, I gave her a treat reserved just for potty time. As I mentioned above, she will usually do what she needs to do to get the treat. I still do it the same way at nearly 8 months old. Even on our walks, I encourage her to complete her duties before we start, and throw the bag of poop in the garbage can in the park.

She sniffs around outside for a little bit and then goes. When she is done, she plays with leaves, digs or just sits and listens to all the sounds. I usually tug on her leash to get her moving and walking around more to see if she needs to go again, but she just doesn't.

Whenever I have tried to pick her up inside, she keeps going. I end up with a trail of pee rather than a puddle.

We ALWAYS give her treats when she goes outside. Plus pet her and tell her how good she is and everything.

Huh...I'm at a loss of ideas. I'm sorry! I've never encountered a dog that kept peeing when you pick them up, she must really need to go! It must be a little frustrating! Maybe she will grow out of it...hopefully! Good luck

Oh something just popped into my head. Have you attached a command to her going potty? So for instance, we taught our dog "go potty" and he could go on command. If you do this (if you haven't already) it's possible that you can use it when she's outside and you are thinking she may need to go more, which would hopefully cut down on the accidents inside the house as she could get it all out when outside. Just another idea...

I use the same exact command. Sometimes, I say, "go potty for a treat." Poop sometimes doesn't happen as quickly, and this usually helps. I even show her the poop bag now so she knows exactly what she needs to do.

We always say "go potty" when we are outside. I dont know if she knows what it means yet though.

I think it's helpful that when you're first training this, you say "potty" when they are actually in the act. So they know potty = the act they are doing (pee or poop). So literally as your dog is peeing or pooping outside, say "potty." I used to say it several times until he was finished. Then, after doing this for awhile, then you can start to say "go potty" and they'll know what act you're telling them to do. I don't really think they know what "go" means but they will pee or poop because you are saying the word "potty". Hope that makes sense...
