Is it too good to be true???

The kids got the pups on Christmas Morning, and we actually managed to hide them until the morning!! They were so excited. The pups did great having a couple days in the new house without kids. And we are proud to announce their names.... Buddy (I tried to convince the kids it was too common of a name, but they insisted on it!) and Holly for the girl ( I love it) Christmas and BUDDY HOLLY !! Works for us.

We brought the pups home on Saturday!! It has been amazing!! Even with 2 litters they are both smart and wonderful. I have to thank you wonderful people for all the tips. Things are going great. I am using the jingle bells and both Buddy and Holly have started using them to go outside and 90% of the time is is to pee or poop. We had no accidents yesterday!! With 2 pups!! I did not think that would be possible. They keep us all on our toes but in the most wonderful way. Even Holly who had to switch foods quickly did great with no negative reactions. They are sleeping through the night and peeing on the pee pads in their pens and not even hitting the floor. I am so overwhelmed with the success this first almost week. My hubby asks me why I am so surprised with all the prep work I did, he is impressed how ready we were for every puppy problem and keep telling him to check this forum out. Even the chewing is going really well, they start chewing something they shouldnt and we give them a toy and they go for it. They nibble a bit at our toes but stop when we clap or give them something else..

Is this a honeymoon phase?? Or could we have a easy pup transistion if we stay on top of all this and start training after their 2nd set of shots???

It could be the honeymoon phase - on your part! lol

Most of the time, accidents happen when the humans aren't as attentive. The pups still give you the signals, but life is busy and you don't notice. Your pups are still brilliant, but you are busy.

Congrats on the pups! But we need pictures.

Wow, you must have a ton more stamina than I do... one almost 11 week old puppy is more than enough for me!! I'm sleeping much harder in the night now because I'm so tired when I get in bed! Enjoy Buddy and Holly!

Yes we got two!! We live on an acreage and have always found two dogs the best!! It is harder during the puppy year, but in some ways not really. They do alot at the same time you just do it twice. I forgot to mention during my "oh this is wonderful post" that they do something really gross and eat their poop when fresh, when it is frozen they ignore it, but even if they just eat, I have to run if I see one pooping and scoop it up or they will eat, especially the male.. SOOOO GROSS, and then they want to kiss and cuddle, little poop faces..

I will try to get photos up shortly!!!

My pup has not tried her own poo, but she has done the kitty box for me a couple times. They are upstairs and we tried to block the stairs, but she found a way a couple of times. One day hubby said it was all over her and he had to stick her right in the bath. I dont know if she climbed inside or what. Ewwww
