Hahaha...she does have really cute puppy fuzz!!! I want to see more pictures of her! If you go today, please take more pictures!! I can't stop looking at puppy photos haha! It sounds as though your breeder really knew you well, and made an informed decision in order to give you the best match for you, and it sounds like it all really worked out! It also sounds like you are really an informed buyer too and I think that is so important! Coming into this I cannot say I was the most informed, but prior to picking a breeder, I tried to learn as much as I could about clearances especially because our last dog had so many health problems, and health of the dog was so important to us.
I just started a new thread about this, but just in case you miss it, I wanted to share with you these pics
that the breeder posted on her website. Cant wait to hear if you go today and how it goes!
Years ago I worked with a breeder. It really was a great experience and I was fortunate to be involved in the planning to homing stages, many times. I also whelped her last two litters, as she died from cancer just after breeding them...a bit of back story here. Leslie found out in April that she had cancer and passed in early May. She was supposed to have 12 months, we believe she had a reaction to the chemo, actually fed the tumors. Anyway, when she found out she had cancer two or her bitches were in heat and she had a waiting list for puppies. She really wanted to do this one more time so I agreed to help her. If we had known what was going to happen, I am pretty sure we wouldn't have done this. But it ended up being an act of love for me...those puppies kept me busy and helped me heal from loosing her.
I have also read a lot and having raised many dogs myself, feel confident I know what I am getting myself into, yet Goldens are not cockers and there will be differences. I am no expert...lol!
I already knew about clearances, just needed to brush up on them since I hadn't looked at one in years, and Golden's have some same, but also different clearances.
I also knew what I wanted from a Golden...I have always wanted one, and looked at them from time to time through the years...
Last, I know that just because I bought from someone who does her health testing, proves her dogs, raises them well etc etc...this does not mean I won't have any problems with Sage, but it does lessen the chance.
I saw the pics...so cute!
