| Good luck and let us know how things went. I'm sure you will both do great. Now that Tayla is over the biting that plagued us her first 8 months we will be going into our first Basic Class in January. STARR Puppy was fun, but when she got excited or bored or just felt like it she was so bitey with my hands that I actually had to leave a couple classes. She passed because she did everything correctly, but even her last class was shall we say painful for me. She knows sit, down, come, wait, and heel pretty well. A little less for stay, but I'm hoping that when I'm off for two weeks at Christmas we can work on that. I'm seriously thinking of going through Basic, Novice and getting the CGC and putting her into Pet Therapy classes. We'll see how she progresses. Boot camp might be something we initiate also. If you get a "cap and gown" photo don't forget to post it.

| I haven't decided if I'm taking his grad cap this time. Thinking of making it short & sweet. I spoke with our trainer on the phone & she thinks my boot camp is too rigid for Bentley at 5 months. I totally disagree with that. It's working and he's becoming a much more well behaved dog while still having fun. I have no desire to argue my position with her because there is no way I'm stopping boot camp any time soon.

| I think as you do, spare the rod SPOIL the child just as kids some pups need a little more discipline than others and his boot camp time outs from what you writ are doing nothing but positive things for Bentley . Keep it up! Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

| I've been following your thread about Bentley's Bootcamp. I totally agree with you regarding the playtime in training class. We added a new Corgi to our family in Feb. While waiting for her to complete her shots so we could go to our regular kennel club training classes, I went to one held at my vet's office by another trainer. Same thing, he allowed playtime. In all my 18 years of going to training classes, I never attended one that allowed playing. I felt it detracted from the actual training. You can still have fun with training without having the puppies all amped up from free play. Plus for me, the classes were expensive and I do not feel I was getting my money's worth when a good portion of the classtime was just playing. Keep up the good work. |

| It's official, Broadway graduated from the 2nd grade today!! I made him stay on leash for entire class so I wasn't popular but who cares. The next set of classes starts after holidays but she said they have off leash time in those too so we won't be attending. Here's the grad......

| awww he looks quite proud of himself doesn't he? I'm surprised they allow playtime before and after class. Where we go, they are not allowed to play at all. Reason being that if you decide to go into competitive obedience or agility trials, they cannot assume it's okay to play with other dogs. They have to learn that "this is serious business" (not my words) lol
