| Introducing Charlie! This thread is two days late, but I really wasn't feeling up to posting such a happy thread on Friday after the horrific tragedy in Connecticut. This is Charlie, our handsome little fluff ball: We are already just so in love with him, it's crazy. And the funny thing is, even though he's only been home a few days and has met dozens of our friends and family already, he's really attached to us too. We've had a few accidents so far, but we're getting better about sticking to a schedule and Charlie seems to be benefitting from that. No accidents last night, woohoo!!! Here's Charlie right after his first bath at home: Hanging out by the Christmas tree with our cat, Toby: And just generally being adorable: Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

| He is a cutie! I have Charlie too, 11 and half weeks old. My Charlie and a Christmas tree do not go together this year. Lucky you!

| Sure! It's still a work in progress, but today has gone very well. We're at 20 hours accident free!!! 5:30 - wake up and potty 5:45 - playtime 6:15 - breakfast, then potty immediately after he's done 6:30 - more playtime until he falls asleep, then I put him in the crate covered with a blanket. When he wakes up, he immediately goes straight from the crate to his potty spot outside, no nonsense. If he potties, lots of praise and a treat. Repeat the playtime - nap time cycle until 1:00, which is lunchtime. I also take him out anytime he sniffs the carpet or makes this little whine that I've picked up on. After lunch, repeat the playtime - nap time cycle. Play time is a good opportunity for socialization and trying new things. Today we went on a walk to find different surfaces to walk on and met a few neighbors. The new stimulations tired him out too. Dinner at 7:00, followed by (you guessed it) play time and nap time. The crate and this schedule has worked wonders with avoiding accidents. 11:30 - bedtime for humans and Charlie. Crate him downstairs, which if he's good and tired from playing, he welcomes happily. He gets his stuffed duck and a chew toy. 2:30 - wake up to potty. 5:30 - wake up to potty, repeat cycle. This is of course the schedule for when someone's home all day with him. Luckily I'm off work from the 21st-2nd for puppy bonding! When we're at work, we've arranged for my sister to come play with him and let him potty at the same 3 hour intervals. When he's here alone, he will be crated until fully housetrained. I hope this helps! I'll post more as the days continue ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

| I'm beginning to think that Charlie is the hottest boy- puppy name going. Your Charlie is super cute. I was surprised to see the cat seeming so relaxed with him. Our cats hid upstairs for quite a weeks after Jess' arrival, and he was used to cats before he came to us, so no chasing .
