| Joining the Golden World! Hello everyone. We are the proud new owners of a golden baby. I have been talking with a few of you as we searched for the right breeder. We got our girl today and are still working on a name. This is such a wonderful community and I appreciate all the help I've been given so far. Here is a shot of our girl after her first bath. More to come as our adventures continue. What was the best puppy advice you've been given? We are a little nervous about our first night. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

| Enjoy every moment .... you know that really small cute stage ... it lasts about 2 days and then they grow!! <G> Seriously, enjoy every moment. It is incredibly frustrating, maddening, and rewarding. Oh ... and a tired puppy is a good puppy. I think the best advice I was given was to socialize, socialize, socialize. Bring her with you and introduce her to new sights and sounds and smells. Oh ... and puppy kindergarden. Did I mention that a tired puppy is a good puppy?

| Congratulations....she is a cutie... Advice...hmmm..... crate train, socialize, and most importantly do not start any bad habits now...raise her the way you want her to be as an adult. What is cute with a puppy is not cute with a 65 pound dog. And last but not least, take tons of pictures..:-) |

| The best advice I've gotten is to not forget she is a puppy(no matter how big she gets) and take lots of pictures! She is adorable! Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com App

| She's beautiful. I love her rich colouring. She's going to be a princess ..... But at times you will wonder what has hit you lol. I know that several times I thought we had made a huge mistake & totally disrupted our quiet lives. However, I would not change a thing. Loki was sooooo well-behaved yesterday that I found myself looking at puppies again! But his evening behaviour brought me back to my senses lol. My advice would be to not allow your baby to do anything you would not want her doing as an adult ....puppies pinching clothing or shoes from your bedroom, look totally adorable, but you won't appreciate your clothing or shoes being chewed up by a full-grown dog ...not at all cute! In other words ....start as you mean to go on. Most of all .....enjoy her & take lots of pics .....share your victories & your concerns. |

| We are having a great day so far. Pee and poop outside and she is on her 2nd nap. My daughters are doing so well with her. We have a crate, but what do you mean by "crate training". Are there any videos or articles you recommend? Thanks for all the advice. I think we have settled on a name: Liebchen's (her kennel name) Matecumbe Golden Sunset and Mattie for short. (We are from the FL keys) Here is another shot of our girl. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |
