Hi everyone,
We have an awesome 11.5 month boy, Hudson, (un neutered) who is mostly mellow/calm. HOWEVER, if we travel to a friend/families home or if certain people come over (like my parents) he loses his mind. For example, we had to stay with friends for 4 days during the recent hurricane and Hudson was super amped up for all 4 days (breathing heavy, running around, etc.). He was also super focused on getting food off the counter and from people, which is something he never does home. The problem is that he usually scores food when we are visiting people because they are less vigilant than us, and I think Hudson learned that and has now associated other people's homes with yummy food.
Today, my mom came over for a visit and he was jumping, barking, nipping and trying to hump her (he rarely does this) to the point that she was scared. I imagine he sensed her timidness and took advantage. I have seen him do this barkey-nippy behavior with us but its RARE. He was doing his heavy breathing again (pure excitement breathing) to the point that we all decided to leave because he was such a nuisance.
Well, with holidays coming we travel. However, I am very worried/embarrassed/don't want to work so hard watching his EVERY move during christmas and New years. Any advice? :uhoh:
Thanks!
