How do I get my puppy to stop? He does it while I'm asleep. Weeks ago I found a huge hole I the carpet he had dug through, now I find a small hole he chewed through. I'm a renter, so I'm pretty screwed on my security deposit since the carpet goes throughout the entire apartment, and he ruined it. I would like to keep this from happening in the future. He has plenty of toys.

crate him when you can't supervise him as for the carpet you'd be amazed at what a carpet repairman can do

I crate him while I'm at work during the night time, I sleep during the day and would feel horrible crating him for sooo long.

Most people crate their puppy while at work and while sleeping, it doesn't matter what shift. When you can't watch him he needs to be crated for his own safety.

Be careful, my mother's dog had to have obstruction surgery because her dog ate the ends of the carpet.
