Bear does this!!!!! But he doesn't eat it. He just likes to rip up the grass (weeds more like in our yard at the moment). He will run around with clumps of grass in his mouth. Makes him the happiest dog ever. I don't mind (probably because we don't have grass grass) and he knows to drop it before we go in.
