I have a ton of various Kong toys in our house. With a Pembroke, Cardigan and Golden 9 month old, by and large they are wonderful items.

However, I should advise you of a dangerous item that caused some bad repercussions. The "Tug", listed as a "rubber" toy on Kong's website, is mostly plastic and not heavy grade at that. My fault, for sure, in not checking more carefully.

I gave the puppy the tug and left he and the Cardigan he plays to tug away. Came back a 1/2 hour later and Flynn has chewed and eaten 3" of what I now know is cheap plastic. Wed at 945pm until 630am Thanksgiving, Flynn had both ends going and me cleaning, calming and worrying. Good news is it seems to be all out and Vet checked him this morning and gave an "ok".

Thanks for the warning and glad that puppy seems Ok. It is such a worry when they consume something in edible.

You are welcome. I know I got very lucky. I certainly assume the responsibility but would never have guessed KONG would do this. I have sent them an email.

My prior two Goldens were really good about chewing everything, but this guy literally will eat any stone he finds.
