Caira is potty trained in the house. She holds it until we go outside. We go outside a LOT, but she hasn't had an accident in the house in weeks.

EXCEPT... in her crate! I don't get it?! We tried making it smaller but it doesn't matter how small we make it, she still pees. No poop, but she pees in her crate CONSTANTLY. We use nature's miracle, we give her constant breaks... doesn't matter.

Any pointers?! We've tried putting a blanket/bed in there, tried leaving her with nothing in there, doesn't matter. I never discipline her for it, I just take her immediately outside, but it doesn't seem to be teaching her. I'm frustrated because I just don't understand it!

I'll add that we limit her water intake because of this... she only gets water at meal times and after rigorous play. She'd drink me out of house and home, I have no doubt. She makes it through the night as long as I don't sleep in. She can hold it from about midnight to 7am.

My puppy did the same thing I took her to the vet and it turned out she had a UTI she was given antibiotics for two weeks and it cleared up hope this helps

Would suggest a vet check, for uti, just in case. If not, consider whether she is relaxed in the crate or anxious - stress can make them lose control. Try feeding her meals in the crate.

I will go ahead and get her checked for a UTI. My boyfriend is a vet tech and he says he doesn't see signs of one but you never know.

She doesn't appear anxious in the crate, she even will go in and just lay down.
