| Hope you're feeling better soon. Any idea how you got this or how long it's likely to last? Have you called your Dr.? Just a thought about Bentley and Ky. What about letting each of them have time alone with you but have your husband let them play outside together?

| It is up to DH to nurse you, not Ky. Sounds good he takes Ky out and away when needed. I hate to bring up the pack order thing because I might get flamed for it. But from what I have seen it is true.

| Sorry you're sick Bentleysmom, if you do have the flu, it might be best to keep both Ky and Bentley away from you. Recent health studies show that Humans can pass the virus onto both dogs and cats, although they get a different type of virus, it's still a flu virus. Take care of yourself, hope you're feeling better soon. Last edited by CAROLINA MOM; 11-15-2012 at 05:09 PM. |

Now, with that being said, I do not know Joyce personally nor do I know how her house is run but I would imagine she is a strong pack leader. You might have to reestablish that regardless of illness you are still alpha. I'm not 100% on how to go about that. Maybe doing down-stays with Ky (on the bed?) far from you and call Bentley over. That way Ky knows that she has to respond to your down-stay b/c you're still alpha. |

| Hope you feel better very soon. You have done such a great job with Bentley I am sure he will catch up fast! Ky knows how Bentley's puppy enthusiam feels when you are not up to it. You watched out for KY and now he is watching out for you! Feel better soon!! |

| Dare I say it's only been about an hour and half since I tried the acv and I already feel better than I have for 2 days! As for Ky apparently she just doesn't think Bentley needs to be near me when I don't feel well. I'm sitting in the living room now with Bentley on my lap and Ky is perfectly fine with it. Who knows what goes through these dogs minds DH is going up to pick up Bentleys lesson that he missed Wed so hopefully we can get some work in by this weekend. I'm totally amazed at the acv, before I drank it I had terrible stabbing pains in my stomach and head. They're gone now. I will be keeping it in the house always now! Thanks everyone!!

| Glad you're perking up. I think you could have DH hold on to Ky or take him in to the back yard while you spend time with Bentley. I agree that it's pack leader stuff going on... Either you or DH need to let Ky know that someone is in charge. It's probably not a big deal but it could happen again or expand to different situations. Take good care. Is your bruised hip all better? |

| Thanks, the hip is coming along pretty good. Funny thing is that now that I feel well enough to be in the living room with them Ky is acting 100% normal, allowing Bentley to do whatever he wants including sitting on my lap. Before we got Bentley if one of us got sick Ky always stayed right by our side until we were feeling better, I think she just doesn't want the rugrat to take over in that area.
