Bentley is growing up *sniffle*

I've been noticing the last several days that Bentley is acting more like a grown up dog. Ky is still in bed and Bentley is outside. I can see him from where I sit, another dog walked by the fence and Bentley gave him the deep "Ky" bark (then ran into the doghouse but whatever )
It just seems impossible to me that he has grown so fast, he's 4 months old now. Where does the time go?! He gets his rabies vax today which means he can get his license *sniffle*. I swear he was only a puppy for 5 minutes!
Last night while watching TV I was sitting next to Ky and I noticed there's a little gray showing up in her black muzzle. That really threw me! I have to admit I shed a couple of tears when I saw that.
I love my dogs SO much but time just flies by. I vow to slow down and enjoy every single thing they do. The good, bad and terrible! They are here for such a short time, I don't want to waste a single second being aggravated with them for anything. I just want to bask in their goodness while I can ♥

Good luck with not getting aggrevated ocasionally but I know what you mean.Jack will be 3 Dec 4th & I didn't realize how "grown"he was untill I got Sweetie. After about 3/4 hour of playing with her he's ready to lay down for a knapLOL.As is often said the only problem with a dog is they don't live as long as we do.

As horrible as Tayla has been since we got her at 4 months and as many times in the first few months my husband said I think she needs to go, she is starting to turn the corner and be a better dog. She will be 1 year old on the 17th. We have had her almost 8 months at the end of this months. I can't believe how time has flown. The last several days she has been much better about mouthing and has started to entertain herself a little more with toys. She has been better on walks and when she jumps she doesn't bite. The other night she jumped a couple times and grabbed my sleeve and immediately let go and corrected herself and sat down. She got lots of praise and a treat. She also hasn't made the scrunched up nose face when she gets frustrated. I don't know if this will be lasting good behavior, but I can see in her face now that when she does something that she knows she should have done something else instead and will do that now. It makes me proud, because I think my constant corrections have started to take hold.

They do grow so fast don't they! I have decided that I am going to take a pic of our new girl (who we think we are going to name Sage!) everyday. I did this with my other dogs and with my human babies for the first year. I am so glad I did it too...

Aww Joyce I know exactly what you mean. Before getting Chester to relax was a nightmare he could never sit still I would have to put him in his crate to take a nap or I couldn't get anything down. Now he is such a sweetie the mouthing has changed drastically he gets on the couch to cuddle and actually sleep and it's just the cutest thing when he would be playing with his toys and out of no where get up come to me and give me this kind of puppy hug I love it so much.

I <3 <3 <3 this idea!

Joyce - it flies by!! I still cannot believe my other animals are as old as they are. Where did the time go? It's like life took us by storm and suddenly here we are a month, a year, a decade later. All the moments are precious and I adore hearing about Bentley.

Umm yeah...that whole "I won't get aggravated" thing didn't last long. I was in the shower getting ready to take Bentley to the vet for his shot, I had my eyes closed washing my hair and Bentley got a running start and jumped into the shower with me
He used to hate baths until he discovered that he could swim at the lake. He was standing in the shower moving all 4 legs like he was swimming. Then he jumped out, soaking wet and ran into the living room. I'm not quite sure but I think I heard him say, na na na na na and he was laughing on the way out!!

As of today the bathroom door has to remain closed when we're in the shower. DH was taking a shower & Bentley jumped in with him today, this could get dangerous for all involved.
Ky is not going to like the new rule because from day one she has always laid just outside the bathroom door when we're in the shower like she's guarding us. We've never figured out why she does it but we just say thank you Ky when we get out and she's happy and goes on to other things.
I think she disciplined Bentley for the shower episode today, as he ran out of the bathroom I heard a low growl but that was all, it must have been serious for Bentley though because he's been laying in the corner looking all sad every since. DH is Ky's best buddy in the whole world... you don't mess with her daddy
