We take Phoebe shhopping also! It's hard though as everyone wants to stop and pet her it is good socialization for her. She meets a lot of different people and she always sits there for a pet torture.

@Phoebe's Mom

Your puppy is exactly like my 4.5 year old. Enjoy her because there are perfect puppies out there - it's like they come home with an old soul.

Even though she seems like a couch potato I bet she will be more than willing to do whatever you want with her and it takes time to figure out what really excites your dog.

My 4.5 year old definitely has high drive for tracking (has his AKC TD), swimming, field and agility (has one leg toward AKC Excellent Jumpers title) - all the things I didn't introduce him to until he was around 3.5 years old. While he has Excellent level titles in AKC Rally and APDT Rally and is trained through Utility for Obedience - it doesn't excite him and he did it for me.

So... figure out what she loves and do it with her - she could be a great therapy dog if you're interested in that.

You know, when my Toby was little, I very nearly posted a similar question a few times, and even recently I've wondered. He was exactly this way: calm, "mature", focused and very quick on the uptake. I came to the conclusion that I'm just very, very lucky.

But take heart! There may yet be a rebellious phase in your future! Toby just turned 18 months old, and after all these months with a rock-solid recall, his memory suddenly failed him two days ago. I called him, and he gave me his cutest, most impertinent, noncomprehending look, and sat down. Rebellion, here we come.

Phoebe is gorgeous!

Our, plan is to make her a therapy dog. We were at a store last week and a group of disabled children wanted to pet her and they all just swormed her and she just sat there and wagged her tail, licked the occasional hand that passed by the nose. We were proud parents.

Enjoy it! Moose use to be the same way as a pup, so calm and slept all the time. He never barked or anything. Never chewed anything that wasn't his toys, and when he would chew it, it would never be destroyed in the 2 seconds it takes now. Now he has hit his "teenage" phase.. i sometimes miss those days when he slept all the time.. lol

I wouldn't mind Phoebe being more "fun" as my boyfriend sometimes wants to wrestle with her and she just wants to cuddle, or play with his hands. See pictures above. She hasn't gone for a walk today but is still sleeping. She had a big day yesterday so I assume she is still tired from that.

She is just beautiful! Our little boy is a calm one too especially when younger. He never went through the Land Shark stage, walks so well on lead. He has his zoomie times for sure and when he hits the couch it will slide against the wall, but he has honestly been so good. Keeping my fingers crossed he stays this way. His sister is 3 months older and a hellion, name it and she did it in that age stage. I don't think I would make it if I had two like her.

Count your lucky stars and knock on wood a lot! She sounds like a dream.

She goes for 3-4 walks which are always off leash, and then a good hour or 2 at the dog park where she plays very nicely with the other dogs.
My problem is, she is always sleeping, she is always calm, not afraid of anything, she lets us know when she wants to go out for a pee. I know a tired dog is a good dog but am i tiring her out too much? Or could there be something wrong? Maybe she will hit her puppy rebelious stage soon?
Not complaining, just wondering as so many other people have horrible biting issues and such.
Lucky you! You have a very sweet girl and a very well-behaved girl. She is very cute too. It sounds like she is getting a lot of exercise - 3-4 walks a day off-leash and 1-2 hours at a dog park. Plus you posted in another thread that you take her to work with you. To be honest, that sounds like plenty of exercise for even a high energy dog. I think it's great for puppies to burn off their energy and be able to run and play, but I do wonder if she really needs all that exercise since you said she's worse than a teenager to get up in the morning. I'm not saying she doesn't need any exercise and I think it's terrific she's so well-behaved, and I also don't think there's anything wrong with her, but I do think it is a little odd that she's so tired in the morning... I guess it would be fun to just let her hang around the house for a few days and just go on 1 or 2 off-leash walks and see if she is still so tired in the morning.

When we first got her she would get antsy every couple hours and taking her on a 15-20 minute walk threw the park helped. By off leash i dont mean she is running chasing squirrels as she doesnt have that instinct yet. She just trotts around sniffing and chasing leaves. Its the dog park that she runs and chases other dogs. So we sort of got into the routine that every couple hours we took her on a little.walk sp she dpesn't go crazy in the house.
