I went to the local holistics pet store last night to buy some more food for Sam. He is currently on Innova, and I thought I would try him on Timberwolf just as a little variety and also because of the great things I've heard about it. The owner of the store convinced me to try a brand new food that was basically setting out to be a competitor to Timberwolf as a no grain alternative. I told her the Sam had been pretty itchy lately and she suggested to try a no grain food, and possibly a different protein source to see if that helped so I went with the fish formula. Here are the ingredients.... how does it look?? She said the food is only about 2 months old and they are already having rave reviews on it from their customers. I just bought a small bag to try it though and if you guys have any negative opinions on it or if Sam doesn't do well on it, I will probably try the Timberwolf after all.

oh i'm so glad!! i'm also glad that you aren't worried about it being from Diamond, honestly i didn't even know that until that previous post but i was hoping that since it's grain free it wouldn't be an issue. just out of curiousity ACC, what formula of TWO do you feed normally? do you tend to stick with the grain free ones (fish) or do you rotate all the different formulas?

LOL! what did it taste like????? although this new food i have to admit did have a really nice smell... i thought it would stink with the fish.. it wasn't bad.. and Sam LOVED IT.. as soon as he finished his bowl he was sniffing around the kitchen lookin for the rest of the bag!

I've used both the fish forumla and the Lamb and Apple. Timberwolf is a good food. It may have been a coincidence, but Shadow's coat went funky when he was on the food and has really never been the same since. Even with a change. I don't really think it had anything to do with the food though. People give it great reviews.

I have been feeding TWO to mine for a little while. I love THK and prefer it, but when it's a morning I have to get out quickly because we have a showing...I need something I can feed fast and with little mess. I like Ocean Blue best. I top it with Merrick Working Dog Stew and my dogs are very happy campers! Once we are moved and settled I will likely feed raw again or THK.
