I wonder if he was stolen then dumped. Hopefully he will find his family. Hopefully someone didn't steal him from far away because then it will be harder for the family to find him.
Answer:
North Carolina state law requires us to hold owner surrendered animals for 72 hours and stray animals for 72 hours. However, if space permits and the animal is adoptable, we will hold onto the animal as long as possible in hopes of it getting adopted or into a rescue group. If the animal does not get adopted, it will be humanely euthanized.
I called and talked to the shelter, TGRR was hoping to get him. They have a lot of families waiting for a Golden. They told he would be available this morning at 8AM and had over 20 people who were planning on coming to look at him. I was away for the weekend, or I would have tried to get him for the rescue as they do a through check on adopters. Shelters do not! When I asked if they would hold him for rescue, they said "First come, first serve"! I hope he got a wonderful home!
I'll update the thread title too.
