Sienna has been on medication for Diabetes Insipidus since Spring. She started having issues of drinking lots of water and continual pee accidents after sleeping. Her urine was pretty diluted. Her vet was very diligent and we ended up seeing positive results after starting on this medication.

Last post on all this: http://www.goldenretrieverforum.com...ed-standard/84964-sienna-update-thoughts.html we had been weaning down her dosage until she was on a 1/4 pill twice a day.

After some back and forth of not getting feedback, the doctor finally said we were okay to take her off the meds and see what happens. That was a week ago! She has been fine!! Fingers crossed, of course!! :crossfing

My son helped me get a pee sample to bring in as DH had to go in early for work- what a project.

I brought her in for a well check and her Bordatella vaccine. The vet thinks that the meds must've helped re-regulate her system. She weighs 80 pounds :p: I told the vet she had a weepy eye... she looked and thought she saw something... so she brought her back to have the opthamologist take a look. I spent close to a half hour wondering scared, since they had to wait for him to be done with his patient. Turns out it is a tiny cyst that will probably disintegrate over time and the drip/watery eye is probably allergies. The pee checked out perfectly- very concentrated!!!

I cannot believe she is off her meds!!! I am sorry if this post sounds very rambly- I did not sleep well at all last night (non-furry child issues-frustrating behavior :uhoh:)

It is wonderful when we get a good vet check. Non-dog people would be puzzled over our relief but we know...we know. Glad Sienna is doing better and fingers crossed has made it over this hurdle completely.

That is indeed good news! Such a relief to get a clean bill of health.
