So unusual for her, she never ever eats things like this. I'm guessing she ate about 3" of a pencil - is this something to warrant a vet visit? She's eaten wood before and had no problems, but pencils are a bit sharper, not to mention the lead.

Was it chewed up when she swallowed it or a long 3" piece? If it was chewed up, I would keep a really close eye on her for the next day or so and at the first sign of any straining, wincing or pain, get her in to the vet. If it's the long piece intact, I would probably get her to the vet soon!
She chewed it, for sure. As of 1:30 today she seemed absolutely fine, so I think she'll be all right. I'm going to keep an eye on her for the next day or so.
Lol, thankfully this is nothing as scary as a knife tip. :
Was it a yellow # 2 pencil? Maybe she was getting ready to take the GRF spelling & grammer test ;-) I would think it wouldn't be any worst than a small stick and my guys have eaten plenty of those. Hope Flora is ok.

Glad to hear she chewed it up and didn't swallow it whole! If it was Charlie, I'd just be doing watchful waiting. Hoping for little pieces of yellow wood in her poop later!!
