| I have to say my foster pup Romeo had it and the only one that got it was Shelby but she has a compromised immune system. I picked up the poop as well as I could each time they pooped so that helped. It took a couple of rounds of meds with prescription food and he got well. Never had another problem. And so did Shelby after one bout.

| Giardia is not an extremely serious thing in most cases. Dogs get it from other dogs or even just from tap water. A round (or 2) of flagyl or metronidazole and your pup will be fine. My dog just got diagnosed with it last week-took 6 days of meds and was 90% better. Starting 2nd round just to make sure we got it all. |

| Get 'em all on metronidazole. They'll be exposed, and even if they don't develop symptoms, they'll be carriers. If they're on metro when they're exposed, they probably won't develop even a carrier infection. |

If you're asking if I've read material that says it COULD exist in tap water, yes. |
