Is it constipation or some other issue?

Hi ,
I am observing that Don is having issue while going for nature's call . Initially it was while going stool . He is making several rounds , one place to another place and again making rounds . It takes a lot of time to poop . I am giving him more water and his food contains more water too , just to avoid constipation. No improvement found . As couple of vets suggested , I did ultra sound , X-ray . No issues found . Any leads or advice will be a great help .
Thanks,
Satya

When my golden girl KayCee had knee surgery, she was constipated. I gave her applesauce as that always worked on our grandson--and she went a few hours late. I can't swear that it was the applesauce, but worth a try. Also, you can add plain pumpkin to the food. I mean the kind with no spices, etc added. I have red different amounts to give, but I use to give about 1/4 cup to my dogs simply because they liked it. Good luck.

How long has it been going on, and when he does poop, is it very hard and small, or is it diarrhea? My girl does that generally when she has had diarrhea once or twice already in the preceding hours. It always tells me that her tummy is still upset, she is feeling the need to go, but she may not have much left inside.

@Sweet Girl ,

He is suffering from last 3 years . His poop is a bit hard but not too much and not smelly . He is on medication for a long time but I don't see any improvement. Though regularly we clean his anal sac but still the issue is same .

I second the pumpkin. I give a heaping TBL with AM food but if I were you I would give at each meal. Good luck!

Oh, wow, that's a long time. Poor thing. Sounds like constipation. Worth trying the pumpkin for sure. Is he eating a good quality food? If you are feeding him extras, I'd stop that - just stick to his food.
