Hi,

I just discovered that Poppy has a tiny hairless spot on a hip. It happened very quicky because I checked that "spot" for another reason just a few days ago and it was fine. I noticed as she was runing that her hair looked shorter on a spot the size of a dime. I looked carefully at the skin there and there was nothing visible. I thought maybe she had removed a burr with her teeth and cut a few hairs short in the process.

Now I was petting her and I felt a bump! It's flat, about half an inch thick and 1 1\2 inch in diameter.

I just took an apointment to the vet tomorrow.

She does not look uncomfortable at all. We just ran an hour outside and she was her usual wild energetic self. She's loose on our runs and she chooses the pace. Sometimes she stopped to sniff and dig and sometimes she was running like there was a dozen rabbits in front of her.

She's also laying on the side of the bump. I felt it slightly with my fingers and she does not appear to be hurting, except for what looks like a hotspot. No more hair on that tiny piece of flesh.

A bug bite maybe. Or it could be a cyst, a pimple like bump. But a hot spot you would have noticed it wet with goopy serum before it dried up and healed.

It could be a lick granuloma, not fatal or anything but she does need to see a vet. And you need to keep her from licking it. Spaying it with regular flavored Listerine can help.
