| I would go to the vet for sure. Usually if it just comes from one side that is not a good sign.

| I agree with Karen519 & Rainheart - please call the vet. We had Jack on prednisone but he never had a bleeding nose. He had Lupus. Also please make sure you do not stop the prednisone abruptly. The prednisone always needs to be tapered down slowly until you completely eliminate it. |

| How old is your boy? I agree a nose bleed on one side is NOT good news.

| cooper is 3years old. Went to the vet today. She has done a swab of his nose. should get the results in a couple of days. The dr is thinking it is mostly an infection on some sort. we have started to reduce his prednisone meds very slowly. it has been a tough day. Cooper has another nose bleed tonight. | Harley was on a high dose of Pred (80 mg) to help increase his platelet count. The only symptoms he had were the excessive thirst/urination. He also experienced muscle wasting within the first two weeks, which unfortunately he has not regained. I'm glad you got him into the vet right away. Did they do any bloodwork? with harley when his platelets fell to 30,000 that was considered a danger zone and one thing I had to watch for was bleeding and that included nose bleeds. Is he taking any aspirin or fish oil or anything that could be thinning his blood? |

| cooper is not taking anything expect for the prednisone. We are on 60mg a day. I think getting blood work done might be the next step. We will know more once the swab report comes back. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |
