Pano? I've posted about my girl Portia and her having problems with her left back leg and the (Swollen Ankle Joint)swollen ankle joint (hock) . Four days ago she slipped on the kitchen floor and began limping on her right leg! It is now slightly swollen in the exact same place as the left! Originally, when she hurt her left leg (also by slipping on the kitchen floor) the vet thought she may have a small tear in a ligament. We couldn't afford xrays so it is a guess. NOW that she has the SAME injury to her right leg I am beginning to wonder if Pano may be the issue? What are the chances of sustaining the exact same injury to the other leg? Just curious what you all think? Portia goes back to the vet for a re-check this coming Friday. I haven't talked to the vet about this new injury but certainly will Friday.

That's what I've read. They grow out of it. It is so odd that both legs are affected the exact same way. It is hard to believe she has torn a ligament in both legs that has affected each leg the same way. So that is why I am wondering Pano. I know it can hit all legs at one point or another. I kind of hope it is Pano cause at least she will grow out of it and be fine. She is on Rimadyl so that helps her get around pain free. I've also started giving her glucosamine and we are keeping her pretty quiet. No walks No hard playing with Mercedes or jumping. She has learned to be very cautious with the wood floor now plus we've laid a carpet path for her to lesson the chances of her slipping again.

I hope that she is on a low dose of rimadyl. I have found that if they dont have pain they will contintue to hurt themselves. Sort of like humans you take a pain killer and then do something stupid to hurt yourself more. That is why we limited ATEMS asprin to night time he could sleep pain free but during the day he would slow down if he was hurting.
